Hi,
I’m Conrad Cook. I graduated from Parishville-Hopkinton Central School
in 1961 and as a student was active in 4-H and FFA. Our family showed
registered cattle at the County Fairs for 27 years and I attended Camp
Overlook for 13 years. I attended Cornell University and was on
the Varsity Rifle Team and received both a B.S. and Masters Degree.
Following Cornell, I taught Agriculture at Lisbon School for 5 years and
received the Outstanding NYS Teacher’s Award in agriculture. In
1971 I married Yvonne Deshaies from Massena and returned to the family
farm where we raised 5 children. After the barn fire in 2004 we switched
from dairy farming to selling hay. I’ve been driving school bus since
1998 and was elected to the Town Board in 1997. For hobbies I enjoy
hunting and Old Timers Softball. |

Shirley Robinson: Town
Councilwoman
Hi Everyone!!
Many of you have known me for years, but for those of that I haven’t met
me, I would like to give you this short biography and resume.
My husband Bill and I have lived on the Parishville-Colton Road for the
last 43 years. We have three children. Jimmy, our oldest son is a
watercolor artist and manages a Printing/Publishing Firm and lives near
Washington D.C. Our second son Larry, is a Broadcast/Journalist and
also teaches English and lives in Japan. Our daughter, Jennifer is a
Library Media Specialist and is the Director of Libraries from Champlain
Valley School Systems and lives in Plattsburgh N.Y. We are very
fortunate we were able to raise our children in a township like
Parishville and appreciate the many gifts granted us here, from the
great school system, the wonderful park and recreation area, to the
helpful neighbors that are always there when you need them.
I graduated Salutatorian of my class from Madrid High School and
attended Potsdam University’s Crane Dept of Music. I have 20 years
banking experience, working for Marine Midland and Community Banks in
Potsdam in all capacities. After leaving the banking business, I
managed a small sawmill for five years and then purchased a local Mom
and Pop grocery store, which I ran for seven years.
I served as a school board member for over 17 years, watching the school
system grow from low mediocrity to one of the best in the United States.
I served as the first and only elected town councilwoman in
the Town of Parishville for 12 years and during my tenure saw the
development of a Town Water district, very much needed, a senior citizen
housing project, and the updating of the park facilities to provide the
people of Parishville with one of the finest recreational area around.
I was appointed Court Clerk and worked for 3 years for Judge Kelley,
Judge Sochia, and Judge Wilson in the Court as well as the office.
In January of
1998(remember the big Ice Storm) I was appointed Deputy Town clerk and
Tax collector and for the next three years served in this capacity. In
January of 2001 our Town Clerk retired and I was appointed to finish out
her term. In 2002 I was elected as Town Clerk and served for the next
four years until retirement in Dec. of 2005. The voters of Parishville,
returned me to the Town Board January of 2006, for which I thank them
very much. This Township is a very important part of my life and I will
work very hard in the next four years to serve and improve Parishville
and with all the Townspeople help, we will make this into the Town we
are all proud of. OUR HOME TOWN!! YEH PARISHIVILLE!!
